Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame to Host ISHA Conference

The 2008 International Sports Heritage Association’s annual conference will be hosted by the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. ISHA’s 38th annual conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati on November 11-13, 2008.  The theme for the 2008 conference is “Celebrating Sports Heritage – Traditions We Embrace.”

Country Music Hall of Fame Announces Cash & Watson Exhibits

NASHVILLE, Tenn – The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will unveil a special spotlight exhibit dedicated to global music icon Johnny Cash on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.  Johnny Cash: Man in Black, will be located on the third floor in the heart of the Museum’s core exhibition.  The following week, the Museum will shine a light on legendary country balladeer Gene Watson with Gene Watson: Fourteen Carat Voice, beginning Tuesday, October 7, 2008.  Both exhibits will run through Spring 2009.

Hall of Fame to Announce Induction Class on Fox Soccer Channel

ONEONTA, NY   September 23, 2008 – The National Soccer Hall of Fame will announce the Player Induction Class of 2009 live on Fox Soccer Channel on the evening of January 15th at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Annual Convention in St. Louis, MO. This will be the first time the Hall of Fame has made the announcement on live television.

Charlotte Approves Additional $32M For NASCAR Hall of Fame

Charlotte City Council has agreed to a $32 million dollar extension for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which is due to open in 2010. Increased costs for construction and interactive displays and exhibits were sited as the need for extra funds. The interactive displays alone required an estimated additional $17 million.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces Nominees For 2009

September 22, 2008
The nominations for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum were announced today. The nine nominees are: Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Metallica, Run-D.M.C., the Stooges, War, and Bobby Womack.  Ballots will be sent to more than 500 voters, who will select artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 24th Annual Induction Ceremony on April 4 at historic Public Hall in Cleveland. For the first time, tickets to the ceremony will be made available to the public.
