Washington, D.C. —Dedicated to recognizing inventors and innovation, the National Inventors Hall of Fame has announced its 2009 class of inductees. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the integrated circuit, this year’s class represents advances related to or enabled by integrated circuit technology. The 2009 group includes inventors such as Jean Hoerni, who developed the manufacturing process for modern integrated circuits; Alfred Cho, who achieved a process used in creating devices such as the lasers used in CD and DVD players and drives; and George Heilmeier, who pioneered the first liquid crystal displays.

NASHVILLE - The Country Music Association announced today that Roy Clark, Barbara Mandrell, and Charlie McCoy will become the newest members of the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame.
Clark will be inducted in the "Career Achieved National Prominence Between World War II and 1975" category. Mandrell will be the fifth artist inducted in the "Career Achieved National Prominence Between 1975 and the Present" category, which was created in 2005. McCoy will be inducted in the "Recording and/or Touring Musician Active Prior to 1980" category, which is awarded every third year in a rotation with the "Non-Performer" and "Career Achieved National Prominence Prior to World War II" categories.

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Spring Training has yet to begin, but October baseball is already being talked about in Cooperstown. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announced today that the 2009 Hall of Fame Fantasy Camp will be held Oct. 13-18. The six-day camp, to be held at the scenic peak of autumn in Central New York, will feature Hall of Fame members George Brett, Eddie Murray, Phil Niekro and Brooks Robinson along with former Major League players Jamie Quirk, Rich Murray, Lance Niekro, Paul Blair, Jon Warden and Dave Bergman.

Feb. 9, 2009 SPRINGFIELD, MA - Johnny "Red" Kerr has been selected to receive the 2009 John W. Bunn lifetime Achievement Award by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award was instituted by the Board of Trustees of the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1973 and is the most prestigious award presented by the Hall of Fame outside of Enshrinement. Named in honor of Hall of Famer John W. Bunn (Class of 1964), the first chairman of the Basketball Hall of Fame Committee who served from 1949-1964, this award honors coaches, players and contributors whose outstanding accomplishments have impacted the high school, college, professional or international game.
