Phillies Fans Can Celebrate World Series at Baseball Hall of Fame

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Tickets for Game 3 of the World Series at Citizens Bank Park might be scarce in Philadelphia, but Phillies fans can watch all the action Saturday, Oct. 25, at the home of baseball in Cooperstown.
 
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host the 12th-annual World Series Gala at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25. This family event will feature a live broadcast of Game 3 of the 104 th World Series, featuring the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies against the American League champions. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m.

Musicians Hall of Fame Readies for Award Show & Induction

The Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum will hold its 2008 Induction ceremony on October 28th at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.
 
2008 Inductees include: Booker T & The MGs, The Memphis Horns, Muscle Shoals Rythm Section, The Crickets, Al Kooper, Duane Eddy and Billy Sherrill.

2008 Honorees Inducted to National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame

ISHPEMING, MI (Oct. 15) - The U.S. Ski Team's Liz McIntyre, Nelson Carmichael, and Cary Adgate, along with a man who set the precedent in American ski mountaineering, Bill Briggs, will be inducted to the 2008 U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in April according to Hall of Fame President Tom West.

Both Olympic medalists, McIntyre and Carmichael will be recognized alongside Adgate, an Olympian who was named 2005 Masters Racer of the Year, and Briggs, who has a collection of famous first descents to his name.

McIntyre's career spanned 20 years with the U.S. Ski Team, first as an athlete on the freestyle moguls squad from 1986-98, then as the moguls technical coach from 1999-2006

San Diego HOC Names Faulk and Allen to its Breitbard Hall of Fame

The San Diego Hall of Champions announced that football players Marshall Faulk and Eric Allen have been named to the Breitbard Hall of Fame. They will be inducted on February 18th at the 63rd annual Viejas Salute to the Champions dinner at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego.

Faulk is a San Diego State alumnus and future Pro Football Hall-of-Famer from his career with the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams. Allen is a Point Loma High alumnus that was a six-time NFL Pro Bowl pick in his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints.

Baseball Hall of Fame Celebrates Character on Nov. 1

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Baseball’s greatest players cultivate success through strength of character and depth of courage.
 
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will celebrate those timeless values on Saturday, Nov. 1 through its first Character and Courage Weekend, featuring the historic unveiling of a new statue in the Museum’s lobby. The statue depicts Hall of Famers Roberto Clemente, Lou Gehrig and Jackie Robinson as symbols of character and courage, reflecting the achievements of the three Hall of Famers as beacons of those characteristics.

Motorsports Hall of Fame Announces 2009 Class

TALLADEGA, AL - The International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum (IMHOF) announced the 2009 Hall of Fame Induction Class today at Talladega Superspeedway. The five inductees, determined by a 125-person panel of international media, are: J.C. Agajanian, Donnie Allison, Jerry Cook, Bud Moore and Raymond Parks. Votes were recorded and tallied by Letson & Associates of Hoover, Ala.
