South Bend, IN - The College Football Hall of Fame will be hosting a variety of upcoming events that center around the South Bend community this spring. The Hall of Fame consistently works hand-in-hand with various philanthropic organizations throughout the community to assist a variety of worthwhile causes. This season's schedule of events was launched with the roaring success of the March of Dimes Walk that was held this past weekend. Over 500 people attended this event, resulting in over 200 people making donations to the cause.

ONEONTA, NY (April 29, 2009) – The National Soccer Hall of Fame will honor six enshrinees from the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA), and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) during the Induction 2009 Weekend, July 31st through August 2nd. The six will have previously been inducted into each organization’s respective Hall of Fame at their individual annual meetings. “We are proud to recognize the contributions of these individuals,” Hall of Fame President Steve Baumann said. “There are many who labor out of the spotlight that make our game a success. In this case we have two administrators, two referees, and two coaches, all integral parts to a vibrant and growing soccer presence in the United States. NEWPORT, RI -- The International Tennis Hall of Fame has announced that a Legends of Tennis Fantasy Camp will be held at the Hall of Fame in Newport August 21-23, during the Hall of Fame Champions Cup tournament (played August 20-23).
Legendary “coaches” for this first-time, all-inclusive fantasy camp include Hall of Famer Roy Emerson, winner of 28 Grand Slam championship crowns; Hall of Famer Fred Stolle, winner of 18 Grand Slam championships; Owen Davidson, winner of a rare “Grand Slam” in mixed doubles (he won all four majors in the same calendar year) and 12 Grand Slam titles; and Hall of Fame President and 1970 Hall of Famer, Tony Trabert, who captured 10 Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career.

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – The chance to see a Hall of Famer on the baseball diamond is rare. But this Father’s Day, fans at the inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame Classic in Cooperstown will have the chance to witness five legendary Hall of Famers on the hallowed ground of Doubleday Field. The June 21 Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company, will feature Hall of Famers Bob Feller, Fergie Jenkins, Paul Molitor, Phil Niekro and Brooks Robinson. More than 20 other recently retired players are scheduled to appear at the Father’s Day event, including George Foster, Jim Kaat, Bill Lee, Mike Pagliarulo, Ron Robinson, Steve Rogers and Lee Smith. More players will be announced during the coming weeks. The seven-inning exhibition game will begin at 2 p.m. on Father’s Day. The game will be preceded by the Cooperstown Game Day Parade at 12 noon, and a hitting contest featuring several former major leaguers at 1 p.m. The inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame Classic is co-organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. |

ONEONTA, NY (April 27, 2009) – The National Soccer Hall of Fame has received the First Goal Ball from the Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) Inaugural Match played on Sunday, March 29th between the Los Angeles Sol and the Washington Freedom at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Allison Falk of the Sol scored on a header in the 6th minute of the game off a free kick from the right wing played by Aya Miyama. Also arriving with the First Goal Ball were the official line-up cards submitted by each coach prior to the game.

DALLAS, April 23, 2009 - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today the members of the 2009 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. A total of 564 players from 266 schools qualified for membership in the society's third year, a 27 percent increase from the 2008 class. In its inaugural year in 2007, the Hampshire Honor Society honored over 300 students from 195 schools.
