William Gould IV

William Gould IV William B. Gould IV is a distinguished author, historian, attorney and the Charles A. Beardsley Professor of Law, Emeritus at the Stanford University Law School. Professor Gould was the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board from 1994 to 1998 and is the author of numerous articles and papers on comparative labor and employment discrimination law.

His book Diary of a Contraband: The Civil War Passage of a Black Sailor is considered among the most significant works on African-Americans during the Civil War. A lifelong baseball fan and Boston Red Sox diehard, Professor Gould’s encyclopedic knowledge of the game is legend.
