Dave Marsh Dave Marsh is one of America's foremost rock critics and music historians. He is one of the organizing founders of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where he still sits on the selection committee.

The author of more than a dozen books about rock and popular music and the editor of several more, Marsh is credited with coining the phrase "punk rock." His first book in 1979, Born to Run: The Bruce Springsteen Story (Doubleday) was a New York Times best seller.

He spent five years as an associate and contributing editor of Rolling Stone, where he was chief music critic, columnist and feature writer, and continues to write monthly record reviews for Playboy. For the past decade Marsh has written and edited the monthly music and politics newsletter.

When he is not writing, Marsh lectures widely on music, politics, and censorship and currently hosts a Sunday radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
