Jay Thomas

Jay Thomas Jay Thomas has been a fixture on America's television screens and radio dials for more than 30 years. An Emmy Award-winning actor for his portrayal of Jerry Gold on Murphy Brown, Jay jumped into prominence on Cheers with his portrayal of Eddie Le Bec, the Boston Bruin goalkeeper who married acerbic bartender Carla Tortelli.

Jay went on to star in his own CBS series Love and War for three years alongside Annie Potts. His numerous feature film credits include Mr. Holland's Opus in the role of football coach Bill Meister.

Jay's caustic radio style, which launched him to #1 status in New York in the early 1980s and in Los Angeles later in the same decade, influenced the career of Howard Stern. Jay is currently heard daily on Sirius Satellite Radio and will be seen in theaters nationwide this holiday season in Santa Claus 3.
