St. Augustine, Fla. (April 29, 2008) – The World Golf Hall of Fame has joined in partnership with the Sports Museum of America (SmA) as an exclusive Founding Sports Partner. The relationship with the New York City-based, all-sports museum will include a display on the World Golf Hall of Fame and its legendary members. As the one-and-only Hall of Fame dedicated to golf, the World Golf Hall of Fame will be united with over 50 other single-sport Halls of Fame and museums represented in SmA, which will officially open on May 7, 2008.

As a Founding Sports Partner, the World Golf Hall of Fame is working closely with SmA to give guests a glimpse into the rich history being showcased in the story of golf in the United States. The museum will include a dedicated Golf Gallery, which will be comprised of stories, video and artifacts from World Golf Hall of Fame members, among other professional golfers. Visitors will be engaged by stories and signature memorabilia from some of the sport's greatest American players and contributors in the Hall of Fame including Amy Alcott, Patty Berg, JoAnne Carner, Raymond Floyd, Bob Hope, Bobby Jones, Tom Kite, Nancy Lopez, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Charlie Sifford, Annika Sorenstam, Curtis Strange, Louise Suggs, Karrie Webb, Kathy Whitworth, Babe Zaharias and more. The World Golf Hall of Fame also will be recognized in SmA's "Hall of Halls" gallery, which will promote the institution itself, the World Golf Hall of Fame members, and the annual Induction Ceremony. Joint promotional efforts will be undertaken by both partners, and SmA will make an annual donation to support the World Golf Hall of Fame.
