World Golf Hall of Famers Arnold Palmer, Byron Nelson and Nancy Lopez Help Sports Museum of America

World Golf Hall of Fame

St. Augustine, Fla. (April 29, 2008) – The World Golf Hall of Fame has joined in partnership with the Sports Museum of America (SmA) as an exclusive Founding Sports Partner. The relationship with the New York City-based, all-sports museum will include a display on the World Golf Hall of Fame and its legendary members. As the one-and-only Hall of Fame dedicated to golf, the World Golf Hall of Fame will be united with over 50 other single-sport Halls of Fame and museums represented in SmA, which will officially open on May 7, 2008.

"The World Golf Hall of Fame is extremely delighted about our partnership with the Sports Museum of America, a dedicated relationship that is now over two years old," said Jack Peter, Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the World Golf Hall of Fame. "Our collaboration offers an exciting opportunity to extend the Hall of Fame's message to an even broader audience, including the abundance of sports fans that visit New York each year."

As a Founding Sports Partner, the World Golf Hall of Fame is working closely with SmA to give guests a glimpse into the rich history being showcased in the story of golf in the United States. The museum will include a dedicated Golf Gallery, which will be comprised of stories, video and artifacts from World Golf Hall of Fame members, among other professional golfers. Visitors will be engaged by stories and signature memorabilia from some of the sport's greatest American players and contributors in the Hall of Fame including Amy Alcott, Patty Berg, JoAnne Carner, Raymond Floyd, Bob Hope, Bobby Jones, Tom Kite, Nancy Lopez, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Charlie Sifford, Annika Sorenstam, Curtis Strange, Louise Suggs, Karrie Webb, Kathy Whitworth, Babe Zaharias and more.

The World Golf Hall of Fame also will be recognized in SmA's "Hall of Halls" gallery, which will promote the institution itself, the World Golf Hall of Fame members, and the annual Induction Ceremony. Joint promotional efforts will be undertaken by both partners, and SmA will make an annual donation to support the World Golf Hall of Fame.

"We're grateful that our long-term partner, the World Golf Hall of Fame, has helped us bring some of the amazing stories of golf in the U.S. to life for our visitors," says Founder and CEO Philip Schwalb. "You'll feel like you are in the clubhouse while you listen to legends like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Nancy Lopez tell you about their mental approach to the game, and you'll have fun with the high-tech interactives that engage you in 'Strokes Of Genius.' We may be used to whispering on the golf course, but we'll be making a loud noise in New York City, and we hope to interest our millions of guests in visiting the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida, where they can explore this wonderful sport even further and celebrate its history."
