(COOPERSTOWN, N.Y): This weekend, Cooperstown will feature many reasons to catch spring fever, as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum proudly welcomes Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk Saturday at 7 p.m. for an installment of Voices of the Game, an interview series presentation from Cooperstown in the Museum's Grandstand Theater. On Sunday at 2 p.m., baseball fans are invited to stay the weekend and catch minor league baseball from the International League at Cooperstown's Doubleday Field, as the Rochester Red Wings and the Syracuse Chiefs battle in the inaugural Cooperstown Classic.

Elected to the Hall of Fame in 2000, Fisk, an 11-time All-Star, spent 24 years behind the plate as one of baseball's most durable catchers. Fisk will discuss his baseball memories and participate in a question and answer session with the audience on Saturday evening. A limited number of tickets remain for this event and can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under by calling 607-547-0397.

The Cooperstown Classic is being presented by the International League in honor of the league's 125th anniversary and counts as a regular-season game. Fisk will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Sunday's game, slated for a 2 p.m. start. A limited number of tickets remain and are available through both participating teams, the Rochester Red Wings (585-423-9464) and the Syracuse Chiefs (315-474-7833). Locally, tickets are available from the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce (607-547-9983). Several ticket packages for the game are available, with reserved seating price set at $10 and a rookie package, which includes admission to the Museum, for $18. A special $100 ticket includes admission to the game and a private reception with Fisk following the game on Sunday in the Hall of Fame Gallery from 6-8 p.m.

Also on Saturday at 2 p.m., the Museum will present a book signing with author and Hall of Fame director of research Tim Wiles, who is a co-author of the book, "Baseball's Greatest Hit," celebrating the 100th anniversary of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Wiles will give a short presentation on the song and its history before the signing.

Open seven days a week the year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, the Hall of Fame is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. until Memorial Day Weekend. Summer hours are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.  Ticket prices are $16.50 for adults (13 and over), $11 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $6.50 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children six years of age or younger, active and retired card-carrying military personnel.
