The Hall of Champions is working closely with the 2008 San Diego County Fair for the 'Summer of Sport'. The Hall will be loaning out full and partial exhibits for display at the fair. Visitors will be able to view our newly expanded and updated Sports Illustrated exhibit which celebrates the many San Diegans who have graced the cover of Sports  Illustrated.

The HoC will also be displaying portions of our prized Horse Racing collection, including artifacts from legendary jockey Willie Shoemaker. Also on display will be an exhibit documenting the unique San Diego phenomenon of Over the Line.
 
A very special addition to the sporting displays is an exhibit developed by the Hall of Champions and local collector Art Prior. Mr. Prior is the proud owner of the second largest collection of Olympic Medals in the world, and he has agreed to display his collection for the duration of the fair. His collection includes Olympic coins dating to the 4th century B.C., as well as Olympic medals ranging as far back as the 1896 Athens games, and as recently as the Atlanta Games in 1996. A total of 22 Olympic medals and coins will be available for viewing.
 
Please stop by and visit the San Diego Hall of Champions booth at the Fair, which will feature special activities and projects organized by the HoC.  The Fair kicks off on Monday, June 14.
