WASHINGTON, DC (June 10, 2008)-- The savethefamegame.com campaign announced today that it will be a part of the Hall of Fame Game Parade prior to the Monday, June 16, Hall of Fame Game in Cooperstown, NY, joining the Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres and many other groups participating in the festivities along Cooperstown's Main St.

The savethefamegame.com parade unit will include 20 people (the max allowed by the parade committee), and will be comprised of campaign supporters who will be attending that afternoon's game at Doubleday Field between the Cubs and Padres. Demand to participate as part of the savethefamegame.com parade unit was easily greater than the available slots allowed by the parade committee.

All parade units will begin assembling in or near Cooperstown's Cooper Park, located adjacent to the Hall of Fame, at 11 a.m. that morning, with the parade beginning at noon. The savethefamegame.com parade unit will be assembling near the corner of Church and Fair Streets.

The savethefamegame.com campaign was launched earlier this year, following the announcement by Major League Baseball that the 2008 Hall of Fame Game is to be the final such game played, ending a tradition that began in 1940. The site allows people the opportunity to send an email to Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig, MLB chief operating officer Bob Dupuy, Major League Baseball Players Association head Donald Fehr and Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson, urging them to reinstate the Hall of Fame Game as an annual part of the baseball calendar.
