Soccer Hall of Fame
ONEONTA, NY (June 30, 2008) – For the 5th year the National Soccer Hall of Fame will sponsor an Induction Weekend Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 2nd at Oneonta Country Club. The Tournament is an 18-hole shotgun start event that includes Hall of Famers and other soccer dignitaries among its participants. The cost for a spot in the field is $125, including green fees, a shared cart, practice putting green, a grill lunch, and prizes galore. Provisions are made for foursomes to sign up as a team.

In the past years Hall of Famers Gene Olaff, Julie Foudy, Michael Windischmann, Ray Bernabei, and Philip Anschutz have participated in the tournament. “It’s always an exciting and fun day on the course,” tournament organizer Sandi Collins, a Hall of Fame Board member, said. “In the past two years we have virtually filled the field, so please get your reservations in early.”

The Induction 2008 Weekend includes social events on Friday and Saturday evenings, the Big 3 Enshrinement Ceremony and the Hall of Fame Induction of legendary soccer coach Anson Dorrance and U.S. National Team playmaking specialist Hugo Perez at noon on Sunday.
