(COOPERSTOWN, NY): The 18th Annual Hall of Fame Weekend New York-Penn League Game will take place at historic Doubleday Field in Cooperstown on Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m. The game will feature a matchup between the Oneonta Tigers and Tri-City ValleyCats, and admission is free and no tickets are required, thanks to Coca-Cola and Key Bank.

Both teams are short-season Class A affiliates of major league clubs, Oneonta for the Detroit Tigers and Tri-City for the Houston Astros. Oneonta has participated in this game since 1991. If weather forces the postponement of the game, it will be played at 6 p.m. Sunday at Damaschke Field in Oneonta.

The New York-Penn League contains 14 teams which are located in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Vermont, Maryland and Massachusetts. A number of teams have famous owners including Bill Murray of the Hudson Valley Renegades, former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis of the State College Spikes, and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., who stole the show at last year’s game when his Aberdeen Ironbirds beat Oneonta 10-8 in 10 innings.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, there will be a program with Tigers owner Sam Nader, manager Ryan Newman, pitching coach Alan Mills and hitting coach Luis Quinones, where they will discuss their baseball experiences in the Bullpen Theater at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Visitors with a Museum ticket will be able to attend this event for free.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week. The Museum observes off-season hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend. Ticket prices are $16.50 for adults (13 and over), $11 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $6 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children 6 years of age or younger.  For more information, visit our Web site at baseballhall.org or call 888-HALL-OF-FAME (888-425-5633) or 607-547-7200.
