NEWPORT, RI - The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum has developed a new gallery exhibition for the 2008 US Open entitled Home Court: The Family Draw. The exhibition will be on view at the US Open Gallery in Louis Armstrong Stadium at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center starting August 23 through September 7.

Home Court: The Family Draw provides an inspiring look at the timeless relationship of tennis and family. This exhibition presents the stories of many remarkable families. It is a journey that spans generations and reaches all parts of the globe. It is a story illustrating the most basic tenets of family—love, devotion, commitment, and sacrifice. Every family in this exhibition has a distinctive story, but they also have a common connection to a sport they believe is as large as life itself.

For more than a hundred years, tennis has served as a bond linking generations worldwide. From the moment a child picks up a tennis racquet for the first time, the bond between family and the game of tennis is forged. Whether it is recreationally, in junior tournaments, or on the world stage, tennis is a game defined by its family connection.

Home Court: The Family Draw looks at many of these families through the ages and tells their unique story.  Through photographs, player memorabilia, interviews, and a specially produced video, Home Court provides a heartwarming and entertaining look at the timeless relationship of tennis and families. More than 80 families are represented and their stories chronicle the history of the game.

Between matches, the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum invites you to visit the US Open Gallery and take in this fascinating family affair.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum is a non profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of tennis, inspiring and encouraging junior tennis development, enshrining tennis heroes and heroines and providing a landmark for tennis enthusiasts worldwide. The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport, Rhode Island, was the site of the first U.S. National Tennis Championships in 1881, the tournament that evolved into today's US Open. In 1986 the International Tennis Hall of Fame was recognized as the sport’s official Hall of Fame by the International Tennis Federation, the governing body of tennis.
