Jay Thomas' "Locks of the Week" for December 14, 2008

Another stellar week puts us at 28-16-1, my little bey-achees. If this keeps going, I just may be able to make a competitive bid for that open Senate seat in Illinois…

But anywhoozer,

I read in the New York Daily News that Super-model Gisele Bundchen said she and Tom Brady went shopping for a wedding ring and – get this -  he wanted to buy a really large one, and she said she’d be content with something "antique-looking.”

… Hey Babe, you want Brett Farve, just come right out and say it,, okay?

Buffalo (6-7) at N.Y. Jets (8-5)

Jets are favored by eight.

Is it me, or does this seem a little light? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Big men win big games, and the Jets could make their lives easier with a win here. And Farve is still trying to stick it up Green Bay’s ass. I don’t care what anybody says.
Take the Jet-Brett-pack, Jack.

On the socio-pathic side of the street, Michael Vick, who used to be the highest-paid NFL player in the league, is now hauling in a whopping 12 cents an hour at the federal pen in Leavenworth, where his current crib is…

… Makes you think god is a dog-lover, don’t it?

Detroit (0-13) at Indianapolis (9-4)

Indy by 17…

You heard it here first men: Detroit not only covers, but get its first win. That’s right - the Lions beat Corky and the Hoosiers in their own dome and stave off the O-fer season. Think I’m kiddin’? I ain’t. Jay’s upset of the year, Friend-O’s.

In other crimes of the NFL news, Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth got 30 days probation and a $1,000 fine for driving 103 in a 70 mph zone…

Now the big question… What rocket-ship, military industrial complex, solid-fuel, time, space, and dimension-defying company is manufacturing a vehicle that could possibly have enough horse power to go 103 with Albert Haynesworth in it? Where can I get one?

And lastly:

Minnesota (8-5) at Arizona (8-5)

Panthers by three at home.

Arizona clinched a spot last week. Childress and the Vikes need it. No-brainer, take Minnesota. By the way, I heard Al Franken offered to sweep up the MetroDome after the last Vikes game and found three votes with mustard stains lying around… good luck there bubby.

Laters - Jay
