Success in life never comes easy. Do it once, it's amazing. Reach the height of a profession, change careers, reinvent yourself, and do it - again? That's remarkable. Here's ten who did just that. President Ronald Reagan: The Great Communicator...Parlayed a career as a popular actor into the presidency of the Screen Actors Guild...On the screen he is best known for his portrayal of George Gipp in The Knute Rockne Story. Appeared in more than 80 motion pictures...He was originally cast to play the part of Rick Blaine in Casablanca (opposite Ann Sheridan) until the outbreak of WW II delayed the production..The role ultimately went to Humphrey Bogart...His "star quality" as the president of the Screen Actors guild encouraged Republican leaders to urge the former FDR Democrat to run for Governor of California in the GOP, an election he won in 1966 by defeating incumbent Democrat Pat Brown...He lost a heated battle for the Republican Presidential nomination to Gerald Ford in 1976, before winning the Presidency in 1980, and again in 1984. President Reagan now stands as an icon for conservatism. Jack Kemp: 1965 MVP of the AFL...Led Buffalo Bills to AFL Championships in 1964 and 1965...Named MVP of 1965 AFL Championship game...Seven-time All Pro. Little All-American at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California, the same school at which Barack Obama spent his college freshman and sophomore years. Byron White: An All-America running back at Colorado...nick-named "Whizzer," a name he despised...Led NFL in rushing in 1939 for Pittsburgh...A stint as a Rhodes Scholar interrupted his NFL career, and WWII pretty much ended it...Graduated from Yale Law school following the War...He practiced law in Colorado throughout the 1950s...In 1960, he supported the Presidential bid of a young naval officer he had met in Europe 21 years prior...In 1962, John K. Kennedy made Byron White his first nominee to the United States Supreme Court...He remained on the Supreme Court until another Democratic President – Bill Clinton – was elected in 1992. Bill Bradley: Considered by many as the greatest college basketball player of all time during his time at Princeton University...Set record (since broken) with a 58-point performance in the NCAA Final Four game...Initially spurned the NBA to accept a Rhodes Scholarship to do post graduate studies at Oxford. Once he joined the league, Bradley helped the New York Knicks to two world championships...Voted into NBA Hall of Fame in 1983...Went on to become a three-term US Senator from New Jersey, but lost the 2000 Democratic Presidential nomination to Al Gore...Now an author and radio commentator...Although he's stated that politics in America are broken he may have one more Presidential run in him. Jim Bunning: Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher...First player in MLB history to win more than 100 games in both the American and National Leagues...Pitched a perfect game against the New York Mets on Father's Day in 1964...Spent 10 years as a member of the US House of Representatives...Currently in his second term as a United States Senator from Kentucky, Bunning is considered one the most conservative senators in the Republican Party. "Magic" Johnson: Little has to be said about Magic's basketball career. One of the NBA's all-time greats...Member of the NBA Hall of Fame, Dream Team Member. With Larry Bird and Michael Jordan, Johnson revived interest in a dying NBA...Now an AIDS activist and HIV-positive patient, Johnson is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world...His Magic Johnson Enterprises owns 116 Starbucks, 31 Burger King restaurants, 31 24-Hour Fitness Centers and Four AMC Theatres...His Canyon-Johnson Fund holds several billion dollars in real estate assets, including the 32-floor, $100 Million complex in Los Angeles, formerly known as the Transamerica Center...Johnson also owns 5 percent of the Los Angeles Lakers.
