Wayman Tisdale: Second player picked in 1985 draft, selected by Indiana Pacers...Had a 12-year NBA career for the Pacers, Kings and Suns. Best year was ‘89-90 when he averaged 22.3 per game and 7.5 rebounds per game for Sacramento...Member of the Gold Medal winning 1984 US Olympic Basketball team as an All-America from Oklahoma...Exceeded his accomplishments on the basketball court in the world of music...One of America's most accomplished contemporary jazz musicians...His award winning work has now crossed over onto the R & B charts...Announced in August that a portion of his leg would be amputated to stop the spread of cancer he's been fighting for more than a year...Celebrated his return to a cancer-free life with the a new album aptly titled Rebound.  Audie Murphy: Though standing only 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing fewer than 120 pounds when he enlisted in WW II, Murphy became the most decorated war hero in United States military history...He received 33 awards for his bravery in numerous battles during WW II including the Congressional Medal of Honor, The Distinguished Service Cross, two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars and three Purple Hearts for wounds suffered in battle...After the war he became one of America's favorite actors appearing in 44 feature films, the most successful of which was To Hell and Back, the story of his heroics in Germany. It was the biggest grossing movie in Universal Studios history until the release of JAWS some 20 years later...His life was cut short by a plane crash in 1971...He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, where his grave is second only to that of JFK as the most visited at those hallowed grounds.
