South Bend, IN - The College Football Hall of Fame will be hosting a variety of upcoming events that center around the South Bend community this spring. The Hall of Fame consistently works hand-in-hand with various philanthropic organizations throughout the community to assist a variety of worthwhile causes.
This season's schedule of events was launched with the roaring success of the March of Dimes Walk that was held this past weekend. Over 500 people attended this event, resulting in over 200 people making donations to the cause.
The Hall of Fame's central location in downtown South Bend provides groups and organizations unparalleled exposure and access that ensures a successful event with maximum attendance.
"It is important to the Hall of Fame to be involved with charitable organizations within our community," says executive director, Lisa Klunder. "Located in the center of downtown South Bend, we have an opportunity to provide a central venue to assist various non-profit organizations and their initiatives. We look forward each year to working with these organizations and many more throughout the year as they provide various means of assistance to the community through effective action."

Multiple Sclerosis Walk May 2, 2009
Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. at the College Football Hall of Fame's Gridiron Plaza. Teams of walkers can be a group of 4 or more people who collect donations for the event. Individual walkers are welcome as well. Center for the Homeless Dance for Change May 2, 2009
This inaugural event will be held on the Hall of Fame's Gridiron Plaza. This event has been made possible through the partnership of the Center for the Homeless and Five Star, an organization that provides high energy, character and leadership development programming for area students. All area high school and junior high school students from St. Joseph and Elkhart counties are invited to participate. Dancing, group activities, eating, and socializing will take place to help raise awareness to the issues of poverty and homelessness. For more information visit www.danceforchange.net
Homeward Bound Walk May 9, 2009
The walk will begin at the Hall of Fame's Gridiron Plaza. This year is the seventh annual Homeward Bound 5K Walk in St. Joseph County. Eleven agencies that serve homeless populations and address housing issues will benefit from this year's walk. There are 11 total walk sites in Indiana this year. Sunburst June 6, 2009
From the Hall of Fame to Notre Dame! Join more than 6,000 participants for the 26th Annual Sunburst Marathon. Events will kick-off at the College Football Hall of Fame with the Family Walk at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5th. All other races are scheduled for Saturday, June 6 beginning with the marathon start time at 6:00 a.m. The Sunburst Races are kicking' it old school with throwback t-shirt designs from the very beginning as well as bringing in the new with a wheelchair division and cutting-edge Chronotrack D-Tag System for race timing.
