ONEONTA, NY (May 18, 2009) – Jonathan D. Ullman has been named President and COO of the National Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum, effective May 16, by the Board of Directors at its recent board meeting in New York City. “We are pleased that Jonathan has agreed to assume the leadership of the Hall of Fame,” Board Chair Doug Willies said. “He has been deeply involved in all aspects of the Hall’s operations and strategic business planning. His leadership will maintain our current efforts and enhance what lies ahead.”
“The National Soccer Hall of Fame is a wonderful organization with the important mission of celebrating exceptional individuals and their accomplishments in the beautiful game of soccer,” Ullman said. “I feel tremendously privileged to be a part of the dedicated team at the Hall, and to work with our terrific partners in the community as we advance our mission.”
Ullman replaces Steve Baumann, who will be relocating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he will join an organization focused on the development of young people through sports and educational programming. “For the past 21 months Steve’s leadership has been instrumental as the Board and staff has focused on developing the programmatic, operational, and financial strategies necessary to define the Hall of Fame’s future. We wish him well in his new endeavors,” Willies said.
For the past 18 months, Jonathan has worked at the National Soccer Hall of Fame as Vice President of Operations and Business Development. Prior to the Hall, Jonathan was a member of the executive team at Liberty Science Center – New Jersey’s most visited museum. His experiences there included intensive staff leadership, facility oversight, educational program implementation, and capital planning for a major expansion and renewal project. Jonathan has two degrees from Rutgers University, including receiving an MBA in Business Strategy with honors. He resides in the area with his wife and three children.
