EXHIBITS: NOW OPEN

From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen
This is the world's first major artifact-driven exhibit about Springsteen's legendary career from his early bands through his work with the E Street Band as a solo artist. The exhibit includes several of Springsteen's guitars, including the Fender Esquire that is on the cover of Born to Run. It also includes the outfit he wore on the cover of Born in the U.S.A., as well as numerous handwritten lyric manuscripts, posters and handbills from all phases of his career, and various awards and honors. In addition, the exhibit features Springsteen's 1960 Chevrolet Corvette, which he purchased after the success of Born to Run.

Live from Madison Square Garden: From the Lens of George Kalinsky
This exhibit documents many of the most important moments that have taken place on stage at Madison Square Garden by the venue's official photographer, George Kalinksy. It includes iconic images such as John Lennon performing onstage with Elton John in 1974, the Rolling Stones' first MSG show in 1969, Sly Stone's wedding in 1974, photographs from Elvis Presley's one-and-only appearance in 1972, a Bob Dylan tribute concert in 1992 and from the Concert for New York, a benefit for the victims of 9/11.

MOTOWN: The Sound of Young America Turns 50
The Rock Hall pays tribute to Motown's 50th Anniversary. Included in the exhibit are instruments, clothing, programs, posters, sheet music, original music scores, recordings and other items representing an array of Motown's biggest stars.  Items from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Jackson 5, Rick James, Martha and the Vandellas and many others are featured.

2009 Inductee Exhibit
This exhibit honors the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's newest inductees: Run-D.M.C., Metallica, Bobby Womack, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Jeff Beck, Wanda Jackson, Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham.

May 27
Rock and Roll Night School: Bruce Springsteen's Early Years
7 p.m. in the Rock Hall's Fourth Floor Theater
As part of the Rock Hall's
From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen exhibit, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Education Department will offer a series of special Rock and Roll Night School classes focusing on Springsteen's work.
The first class will explore Springsteen's roots in garage bands and soul music, his early bands, and his first three albums, all featured prominently in the first half of the exhibit. 

June 3
From Songwriters to Soundmen with music critic and author Dave Marsh

7 p.m. in the 4th Floor Theater

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum welcomes music critic and SIRIUS XM Radio Host Dave Marsh for the Museum's FREE monthly program From Songwriters to Soundmen: The People Behind the Hits. Marsh will be interviewed by Dr. Lauren Onkey, the Vice President of Education at the Rock Hall. Questions will be taken from the audience at the end of the interview. Please email

June 12 - June 14
Springsteen Fanfest Weekend
To tell the story of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bruce Springsteen, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will host a weekend of events from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14. A free concert, as well as films and programming, will surround Springsteen's first-ever exhibit: From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen.

June 28
Rock and Soul Festival

The Rock and Soul Festival is a celebration of African American music. The vitality of Black influence on American music and culture has been irresistible, its impact, profound and lasting. This soulful festival features performances by national and local artists and coincides with Black Music Month.

July 08 and July 22
Summer in the City Concert

A free concert series on the Rock Hall's Main Stage at 7 p.m.  Artists and performance details to be announced soon.

July 31 - August 02
Rock Hall Celebrates Motown's 50th Anniversary

Join the Rock Hall in a weekend-long celebration of Motown's 50th Anniversary. Special public programming and more will surround the Rock Hall's exhibit, MOTOWN: The Sound of Young America Turns 50.

August 21 - August 23
Woodstock 40th Anniversary Weekend

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will honor the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock festival with a new exhibit and a weekend celebration.
