DENVER — The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, www.coloradosports.org, as part of its organizing of “Championship Saturday V”, the Class 4A and 5A Colorado High School football championships, will again sponsor with the help of Nikon and Rich Clarkson & Associates, a seminar in sports journalism and photojournalism in conjunction with the Colorado chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.

The evening, featuring the Denver area's top sports journalists, will take place in the main floor theater of The Denver Post building, 101 West Colfax, on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7:00pm.

Originally produced for the previous four years for Colorado high school journalists and photojournalists, college and other school students are also invited this year.  Members of the ASMP and The Denver Post  photography departments will critique student work from 5:00 p.m. The evening program, featuring top sports journalists and photojournalists, begins at 7:00 p.m. with an informal dinner hour at 6:00 p.m. Soft drinks and pizzas will be provided by Nikon and Rich Clarkson & Associates, in support of student photojournalists.

The list of speakers includes editor Greg Moore, beat writer Troy Renck and assistant managing editor Tim Rasmussen of The Denver Post, sports anchor Vic Lombardi of CBS 4, nationally renowned adventure sports photographer Keith Ladzinski and former National Geographic Society director of photography and Sports Illustrated photographer Rich Clarkson, for the evening program. The speakers will tell of careers in journalism, sports journalism and photojournalism in addition to photo slide shows.

The winning student will receive the latest model professional Nikon digital reflex camera. Donated by Nikon, not only will the winning student be presented with the camera set (camera and zoom lens) but the school he or she attends will also receive a like camera set.
