Basketball HOF Announces Syracuse Hoophall Classic High School Invitational

Springfield, MA – (October 20, 2006) - The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, the birthplace of basketball, announced today a special one time hoop event to take place at Syracuse University's Manley Field House on Sunday December 17th. The day will feature eight schools from New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Canada.

Scheduled to play are Ss. John Neumann-Goretti (PA), Towson Catholic (MD), Notre Dame Prep (MA), Champlain St. Lambert (CAN), Rice High School (NY), Niagara Falls High School (NY), Christian Brothers Academy (NY), and Jamesville Dewitt High School (NY). Both Towson and Neumann-Goretti are expected to be in the preseason USA TODAY Top 25.

Some of the top high school basketball players in the country will compete including Syracuse recruits Donte Green of Towson Catholic (Baltimore, MD), Antonio (Scoop) Jardine and Rick Jackson of Ss. John Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia, PA), Sean Williams of Notre Dame Prep (Fitchburg, MA) and Johnny Flynn of Niagara Falls High School (New York). Other participants in the Syracuse Hoophall Classic are consensus top five recruit Michael Beasley of Notre Dame, as well as Mike Goodman of Christian Brothers Academy, Brandon Triche of Jamesville-Dewitt, and Lamont Jones of Rice.

Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by calling the Basketball Hall of Fame at 413-781-6500.

1:45 PM Towson Catholic High School (MD) Vs. Ss. John Neumann-Goretti (PA)
3:30 PM Notre Dame Prep (MA) Vs. Champlain St. Lambert (Canada)
5:15 PM Niagara Falls High School (NY) Vs. Jamesville-Dewitt High School (NY)
