St. Augustine, Fla. (November 20, 2006) – The 2006 World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and its class of Inductees will be featured in a 60-minute television special on The Golf Channel on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, Nov. 23 from 8 to 9 p.m. ET and will re-air on Sunday, Nov. 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. ET.  The special will focus on 2006 Inductees Larry Nelson, Vijay Singh, Marilynn Smith and the late Mark McCormack and Henry Picard.

"This year marks the first time we have worked with The Golf Channel to present the Induction Ceremony as a post-produced special whereby we can highlight the 2006 Class and include additional dimensions of the annual gathering," said Jack Peter, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the World Golf Hall of Fame.  "Since the inaugural ceremony in 1998, The Golf Channel has been a great TV partner in presenting this celebrated event to their audience each year."

The special will include in-depth interviews with Nelson, Singh and Smith about their lives, their careers and what led them to the stage of becoming a Hall of Fame member. It also will feature career footage and other highlights from the ceremony, including their heartfelt acceptance speeches, that took place Oct. 30, 2006 at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.

Special appearances will be made by Arnold Palmer in honor of Mark McCormack and Hall of Fame Global Ambassador Gary Player, who pays tribute to all the members. Entertaining excerpts from actor and comedian George Lopez, whom hosted the ceremony for the first time, also will be included.
