Cleveland, OH (January 9, 2007) – REM, Van Halen, Patti Smith, the Ronettes and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five have been selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Class of 2007.

The induction will highlight a ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on March 12, 2007 in New York.

The upcoming event will also pay tribute to late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, who served as the chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

The voting members turned down the Dave Clark Five in the final ballot.
