Soccer Hall of Fame Receives International Coverage

ONEONTA, NY (January 26, 2007) – The National Soccer Hall of Fame received international coverage as the museum was highlighted on Voice of America's "Keliling America". "Keliling America," translated as "Circling America," is a production of the Indonesian service of VOA. This episode of "Keliling America" featured the Hall of Fame Museum; as well as, an interview with Director of Museum and Archives Jack Huckel.

"The international coverage was a great thrill for the Hall of Fame" Huckel stated, "What a great opportunity to spread the message that soccer/football is alive and well in the United States. We were pleased to host the VOA production crew."

"Keliling America" provided extensive coverage of the Hall of Fame's unique architecture including the Paul Bunyanesque exploding ball sculpture on the exterior of the museum, museum exhibits, interactive games, plaques, trophies, and antique soccer equipment. Huckel gave an explanation of the history of the museum and the National Soccer Hall of Fame. He also explained how players are elected to the Hall of Fame.
